The Nowata Lady Ironmen basketball team announced a new head coach on Monday. Former Locust Grove assistant coach Amanda Henderson was hired to revitalize the Lady Ironmen program.

Henderson steps in for Terry Rogers who had the post for just one season. Rogers took the job after longtime head coach Kurt Heller resigned. Nowata posted a 3-19 record last season.

Henderson was on the staff at Locust Grove High School, a team that made a run to the area tournament in 2018-19. Henderson is also the sister of Oklahoma Union boys’ head basketball coach Lee Ott.
