A trio of local gunslingers are making waves as some of the best passers in the state. Dewey’s Kale Carner, Barnsdall’s Joe Cole and Bryce Drummond at Pawhuska are all among the state leaders in touchdowns among their respective classifications, according to unofficial stats.

At Dewey, Carner is the beneficiary of a switch to the Air Raid offense. The senior has nine passing touchdowns and one rushing score through just three games. Carner had just two passing touchdowns in six starts in 2018. Carner’s stats rank him in the top three among 2A passers.

Drummond could be the most prolific dual-threat quarterbacks in Green Country. The junior has nine passing TD’s to top all Class A schools that have reported stats. Drummond also has 9 rushing touchdowns as well. His Huskies are 4-0 after defeating Morrison. Pawhuska is also ranked No. 5 in the latest Tulsa World rankings update.

Cole also has his Panthers at 4-0 and No. 10 in the rankings. Cole is just one touchdown pass behind Drummond with eight through air and four on the ground. The two Osage field generals will collide this Friday in Pawhuska. Radio coverage on Sportstalk 99.1 FM—KPGM.
