No Sports for BHS Amid Virus

No new news on the status of spring sports in the state of Oklahoma and things are in a holding pattern at Bartlesville High School.

No athletes or coaches have access to any facilities, nor can they meet or practice.

The Bruins are awaiting word on what will happen after April 6 with all schools across the state, then the OSSAA can decide when or if spring athletics and activities could resume.

Bartlesville Superintendent Chuck McCauley says nothing is official, but if there is no college or pro sports until the summer, things don’t look good for high school sports either.

The OSSAA has said it is determined to play if it is feasible. The Kansas State High School’s Activities Association canceled its entire spring season yesterday. More on that in a moment.

Bartlesville still has one major bond project in the works for athletics, as the press box at Custer Stadium is rounding into shape. That project is going forward. McCauley gives an update.

We will have more on spring sports when it’s available over the next few days and weeks.
