Miami Outlasts Dewey

Dewey stayed in the contest against Miami, but didn’t have enough firepower to take advantage of some opportunities in the Doggers football opener.

Miami topped the Bulldoggers 21-0.

Dewey forced two fumbles, but also fumbled the ball three times themselves. The Doggers managed only 131 yards of offense, with 33 coming on the ground. Despite having trouble moving the ball, Dewey had chances to score thanks to good defense.

This goal line stand in the second quarter kept the score at 14-0 Miami.

A double-pass from Trenton Muninger to Byrce Sickler nearly got Dewey on the board in the third quarter, but it was barely overthrown.

A late Miami drive and touchdown made it 21-0 with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter and that would be the contest.

Doggers, 0-1, have the battle for the Adam Hooper Trophy at Nowata next week on KRIG 104.9.
