UPDATE JAN 29: The boy's game has been postponed to Monday, February 1. The girl's game will be played Friday at 6:30 p.m. a scheduled.

No. 10 Nowata returns to conference play with a home battle against Caney Valley (OK) on Friday night. The Ironmen went 14 days without playing a game before beating South Coffeyville on Tuesday, 65-35. Nowata has faced few challenges this season with eight of their 10 games being decided by 10+ points.

The schedule will ramp up for Nowata down the stretch run of the season. The Ironmen are a senior-heavy squad that should be up for the challenge of tough games with the likes of Caney Valley, Oklahoma Union and Vinita. Nowata head coach Gary Hollingshed talks about what lies ahead.

Caney Valley is trying bounce back after two consecutive losses to Colcord and Chelsea. The Trojans are 7-4 on the season and just this week dropped out of the tail end of the Class 2A rankings. Head coach Tug Brinker says consistency needs to improve for the team to see better results.

The Trojans have failed to score 50 points in their last five games. This is the first meeting between Caney Valley and Nowata this season. Coverage starts at 7:45 p.m. from Nowata. You can listen on KRIG 104.9 FM.
