Nowata Hosts Chelsea in Hewitt Tournament

 

The Nowata basketball team has an opportunity to win two games in it’s own Ty Hewitt Tournament. That will start with a victory over Chelsea in the consolation semifinals on Friday night. The Ironmen lost to Coffeyville 52-51 in the first round on Tuesday night.

Junior guard Mark Price has led the charge for Nowata as he has averaged 23 points per contests in the first three games of the season. Head coach Gary Hollingshead applauds Price’s effort against some tough defenses so far.

Nowata is 2-1 this year. The Ironmen have dominated the series against Chelsea of late. Nowata has won all nine meetings between the two teams since 2015.

We will have Nowata on the radio Friday night at 8:30 p.m. on KRIG 104.9 FM.
