Nowata Seeing Benefit of Additional Coaches

The Nowata Ironmen are looking to do things the right way as they are coming off a winless campaign in 2017. An early-season coaching change through a wrench into Nowata’s plans and forced them to start fresh with Bob Craig taking over as head coach after week two.

Heading into the 2018 season Craig has the opportunity to execute the necessary planning to enact his vision for the program. That starts with having a full coaching staff.

The Ironmen coaching staff will start its meetings next week where the plans for the season will be laid out.

Coach Craig thinks the specialized attention each coach will give his specific position group can only benefit the team. Another benefit will be having six or seven starters returning on each side of the ball.

Nowata will take the practice field for the first time on August 6. The Ironmen open the season with the Battle for the Adam Hooper Trophy on August 31 against Dewey.

We’ll have more on the Ironmen and several other area teams as the summer continues.
