Nowata Wins Third Straight District Game

It was a dominating effort from the Nowata defense in a 27-6 victory over Salina on Friday night. The Ironmen have won three straight games to pull to 3-3 on the season. With the win Nowata is 3-0 in district and is just one win away from clinching a playoff spot.

Nowata started the game with a 14-play 71-yard drive that took more than six minutes off the clock. It was capped off with this short touchdown run from Dillon Barnes.

Late in the first quarter Trenton Smith would intercept a pass near midfield. After a few backward plays Nowata would build its lead with this long run from Josiah Clark.

Clark would find the endzone two more times on the day, once more on the ground and then a receiving touchdown. The 25-yard toss from Smith was the first in his career. The Ironmen ran for 317 yards on the game.

Nowata next plays at Chouteau (0-6) on Thursday.
