We had a story on OU picking up a big-time wide receiver commitment over the weekend, but Oklahoma State also got some good recruiting news this weekend, too.

The Pokes won the sweepstakes for one of the state’s hottest defensive players.

Edmond Sante Fe linebacker Collin Oliver chose OK-State out of a list of other power-5 schools, including Arkansas, Iowa State, Ole Miss TCU and others.

Oliver had 51 tackles and two sacks as a sophomore a couple years ago. He missed nearly half of his junior campaign this past fall due to an injury. He will be a senior this upcoming sesaon.

Most recruiting services have Oliver as a top-5 player in the state for the class of 2021.
