Oklahoma Union Boys Face Elimination Thursday

The Oklahoma Union boy's basketball team had its one slip-up on Saturday night in Ponca City.

The Cougars fell to Hooker 61-55, and fall the consolation bracket of the 2A boys Area 1 bracket.

OKU will now face Latta at 3:00 in the afternoon on Thursday to face elimination.

Oklahoma Union was down by as many as 16 in the second half and rallied to get within four down the stretch. Kohlysn Gibson was the main force behind the comeback, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter.

It was this bucket from Jace Gilmore that got the Cougars within two possessions in the final four minutes.

Oklahoma Union will have to win three games in a row in order to make 2A State, starting on Thursday afternoon.

2A Boys Bracket

Meanwhile the Lady Cougars are only one victory from state, as the Oklahoma Union girls beat Amber-Pocasset 44-42 during the Regional Final. 

The OKU girls will also face Latta, but in the winner's bracket, on Friday evening at 6:30 PM.
