OKWU Baseball Travels to York

After rain washed out a midweek bout against Manhattan Christian, Oklahoma Wesleyan will be back on the diamond this weekend for a three-game Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference series against York College.

This series will feature the only two schools in the conference not located in Kansas. This six-plus hour bus ride will be longest trip for the Eagles all season.

The Eagles have cruised through the regular season and haven’t faced much resistance during the KCAC play either. OKWU has ridden the backs of a strong starting pitching all season long.

Right-hander Tyson Cronin has been the best of the bunch so far. Head coach Matt Parker attributes Cronin’s results to his ability to control the count.

Cronin leads the Eagles star-studded rotation with a 1.22 ERA and a 6-0 record. Cronin went the distance in a shutout effort in his most recent start against Bethany last weekend.

The fourth-ranked Eagles will take a 30-2 record on the road this weekend. The Panthers are bringing up the rear in the KCAC with a 4-11 record in conference play.

OKWU will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m.
