OKWU Basketball Starts Next Weekend
Just one week from today we will have college basketball in the area. Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball will open up its season with the OKWU Homecoming Classic next weekend. The Lady Eagles will be under head coach Grace Hadley who took over midway through the season in 2018-19. OKW U won 18 games last year and returns its top four scorers. Sharpshooter Hannah Nealis led the team with 11 points per game.
On the men’s side, the Eagles are poised to achieve yet again despite a retooled roster. The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference media poll tabbed the Eagles as the top team. OKWU has won a share of the conference title in each of the last two years since head coach Donnie Bostwick returned. Bostwick talks about his new team this year.
The OKWU Classic and homecoming festivities begin on Friday. Our first radio broadcast will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday October 26 on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM.
