The Eagles basketball teams are continuing their stretch runs in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a doubleheader against Ottawa.

The Lady Eagles are trying to get their season back on track after back-to-back conference losses to Sterling and St. Mary last week. OKWU knocked off the Lady Braves back on December 6 despite scoring just 54 points, its second lowest total all season.

The conference standings are getting a bit tricky as the Lady Eagles find themselves among three teams tied for third with a 10-6 record.

On the men’s side the team has been rolling. Since Joshua Wilchcombe and Jansen Leitzke were added to the roster for the second semester on December 9 the team has gone 8-3. Wilchcombe was recently named as the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Wilchcombe recorded seven blocks in Saturday’s win over St. Mary, which ties the highest total in the conference.

The Eagles fell to Ottawa in a frustrating contest the first time around just before adding those two forwards to the team.

This KCAC doubleheader will get underway at 6 o’clock on Wednesday with coverage of both games on your home for Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball in Northeast Oklahoma, 99.1 FM KPGM.
