Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball earned a marquee win over a Division II opponent in a midweek game on Tuesday. The Eagles crushed Northwestern Oklahoma State University, 16-4, at David Allen Memorial Stadium in Enid.

The top of the order duo of Austin Sojka and Drenis Ozuna combined for six hits and seven runs batted in. That contributed to the 10 runs scored by the Eagles within the first three innings of the contest. Patience at the plate was rewarded as OKWU took eight walks in the contest. Thanks to this the Eagles only needed 12 hits to score 16 runs. This game marks the 11th time Wesleyan has scored double-digit runs against a midweek opponent.

The Eagles also came in it at No. 12 in the release of Tuesday’s NAIA Coaches’ poll. OKWU still holds a two game lead over the rest of the field in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with just two conference series’ remaining.

OKWU hosts Southwestern College for a three-game rivalry series starting on Friday.
