OKWU Closing in on Third Straight KCAC Title

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball is taking a six-game winning streak into its penultimate conference series this weekend. The Eagles host Southwestern College for a three-game weekend series starting on Friday. The Eagles have lost just one conference series all year long. Head coach Kirk Kelley credits this success to the team’s emphasis on the day-to-day.

Once again OKWU is among the top teams in the country. The Eagles have missed the NAIA national tournament just one time since 2014. The Eagles could lock up yet another berth to the national tournament if it could clinch its third consecutive Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship. OKWU still holds a two game lead over the rest of the field in the KCAC standings, which means its magic number to clinch the title is four games.

OKWU hosts the Moundbuilders for a single game at 5 p.m. on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. All games will be played at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.
