The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles are coming down the home stretch of the 2017-18 season and both teams are in the thick of the postseason picture.

The Lady Eagles sit at 18-8 overall and hold outright second place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. They’ll being taking on the team directly behind them in the standings, Bethany, on Wednesday evening.

On a team with eight seniors that play regularly, freshman guard Danae Goodwin has carved out a spot in the starting lineup for the Lady Eagles. The team’s No. 2 scorer is learning to enjoy the success.

The Lady Eagles knocked off Bethany in their first matchup, 64-56. They’ll go for the season sweep with a six o’clock tipoff.

The men’s team is in three-way  gridlock for the second spot in conference. The Eagles are coming off their best win of the season against first-place Southwestern on Saturday. They’ll look to keep that momentum going as they find themselves just two games out of first place with four regular season games remaining.

Despite being a team littered with newcomers OKWU is flourishing with minimal KCAC experience. Head coach Donnie Bostwick likened his Eagles to another team donning the same nickname that just hoisted a big trophy.

The Swedes come in to the game in last place in the conference at 3-15 in KCAC play. OWKU won the first meeting in Lindsborg, 72-62.

Tipoff is set for 8 o’clock at the Meuller Sports Complex.
