OKWU Hosts Tabor for First Conference Doubleheader

Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball hosts its first men’s and women’s Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday. Tabor College visits the Mueller Sports Center to face OKWU in the conference opener for both squads.

For the Lady Eagles it will be the first home game of the season. OKWU went 2-2 in four non-conference road games to open the season. The Lady Eagles bring quite a lot of talent back from a 12-win team a year ago. Some freshman will be key contributors as well. Head coach Grace Hadley wants her team to continue to grow.

The OKWU men’s team is already off to a scorching 6-0 start. Wesleyan won its first road game on Saturday at John Brown—completing the sweep of head coach Donnie Bostwick’s alma mater. So far the Eagles are allowing just 52 points per game. Junior wing Brandon Bird has been a new entry to the starting lineup this year. Bird has been a key part of the defensive success and he hopes it continues.

The action starts at 6 p.m. from the OKWU campus. Radio coverage can be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
