OKWU Soccer Falls in NAIA Elite Eight

 

The OKWU men’s soccer team fell in the Elite Eight of the NAIA Soccer Tournament on Wednesday evening-  ending its fantastic season at 20-4.

Oklahoma Wesleyan lost to Madonna, Michigan 1-0 in the national quarterfinals being held in Irvine, California.

The Eagles usually fantastic offense was stymied by Madonna’s defense. OKWU managed only four shots on goal. Madonna scored on a header from the right side in the 29^th minute, and never looked back.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will finish with back-to-back Elite Eight appearances, but fail to make its second straight Final Four, after getting there a season ago.
