Oklahoma Wesleyan split its two matches in the NAIA National Soccer Tournament's Sweet 16 on Monday afternoon.

The men won and have advanced to the Elite Eight, while the women lost and had their season come to a close.

First for the women, the Lady Eagles fell to No. 4 William Carey, 4-0. OKWU fell behind 2-0 at halftime and could never fight its way back. Oklahoma Wesleyan ends the 2017 season at 20-2-1.

The Lady Eagles finish with the best record in school history, along with a KCAC regular season and conference championship.

Now for the men, the Eagles blasted the host team– Keiser University – 3-0. Oklahoma Wesleyan moves on to just the second-ever Elite Eight in program history. The men led 2-0 at half and outlasted the Seahawks to eliminate them on their home field.

OKWU will next face the Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30. The winner of that match would move on to the Final Four.

If the Eagles could win, that would be the program’s first Final Four.
