OKWU: Kelley Talks Flood, Recaps Baseball

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball wrapped up its 2019 season, the first with head coach Kirk Kelley back in command, with a loss to Freed-Hardeman University in the finals of the Henderson, Tennessee regional earlier this month. The Eagles were the winners of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champions. Kelley says he considers the first year a success.

The Eagles went 45-11 on the year en route to its third consecutive bid in the NAIA Regionals. Kelley says his attention will quickly switch to the recruiting trail.

Kelley also serves as the athletic director for OKWU. In wake of widespread floods throughout the area the school’s athletic complex took on a considerable amount of water. The complex consists of the baseball practice field and soccer field. Kelley says the school will evaluate the issues when the waters recede.

More coverage on how flooding has effected local sports to come.
