The Pawhuska baseball team has found a recent groove after a slow start to the spring. The Huskies have won four straight ballgames over the core teams on their schedule. Most recently the Dawgs pulled off an upset over No. 13 Caney Valley on Tuesday, 11-3.

Pawhuska pitcher Ryan Jones outdueledone of the area’s best arms in the Trojans Luke Lakey in a run-rule shortened victory. Jones logged 4 1/3 innings and struck out four on his way to earning the win. The Huskies offense was the story though as they logged runs in all five innings of the contest. Easton Kirk registered two hits and drove in two runs as well.

Pawhuska is currently 5-6 overall. The Huskies had just one win prior to this recent stretch which came over Pawnee on March 14. Pawhuska matches up with Newkirk on Thursday, a team it defeated 12-4 last Tuesday.
