Pawhuska Football Continues to Impress

One of Northeast Oklahoma’s most impressive sports stories of the fall still resides in Osage County with Pawhuska football.

The Huskies have gone from winless to legitimate playoff contenders in less than a year in a staunch Class A District 5.

Pawhuska (4-3, 3-2) dispatched of Drumright easily on Friday, picking up its third district win of the season 62-0.

The Huskies are currently in the fourth spot of the district and would be in the playoffs if the season ended today, with a huge matchup looming on Friday night at home against Hominy.

Hominy appears to be one of the teams right on Pawhuska’s heals trying to get into the postseason. Friday’s game comes with a lot of implications – and that is because the Huskies have won enough this season to make the contest mean something. Pawhuska head coach Matt Hennesy explains.

Game will kick at 7:00 PM on 99.1 FM – KPGM.
