Pawhuska Football Still Moving Forward

It continues to be an offseason of firsts for Pawhuska.

The Huskies are still feeling out first-year head coach Matt Hennesy. Hennesy comes to Pawhuska by way of Locust Grove.

Pawhuska went to the Dewey passing league during the month of June. It was some of the first passing league action that Pawhuska has ever seen. The Huskies had not gone to a passing league over the past few years under former head coach Joe Tillman.

Hennesy talks about his team’s progression in the month of June.

Right now, Pawhuska is considering a couple different quarterbacks going into the fall. Easton Kirk is probably the clubhouse favorite. Kirk went up against Bryce Drummond. Kirk has more experience, but Drummond made quite a bit of progress over the weeks as well.

Hennesy talks about his club’s quarterback situation.

Hennesy said that both Drummond and Kirk could easily start at quarterback or offensive line for Pawhuska this fall, showing how both QBs are willing to do anything to help their team win. Hennesy also said it shows versatility among some of the team's most talented athletes.

We will have more on Husky football and other area teams as the season approaches.
