Let’s continue our look at the new Bartlesville High baseball coach, as the Bruins made an announcement about the future of the program on Wednesday afternoon.

Cody Price, a longtime assistant at the 6A level, is getting his first head coaching job at Bartlesville High. Price had been an assistant at Westmoore for three seasons, and then Mustang for the past eight years. He comes to Bartlesville with strong ties to Green Country, with family and friends in the Nowata area.

As for the program, BHS is trying to get back to the top in Class 6A, and Price will have some momentum to build off of. The Bruins finished above .500 a season ago under head coach Austin Jarvis. Price talks about what he knows about the Bartlesville baseball team heading into 2020.

The Bruins will lose several key seniors off last year’s squad, but will return several younger players, as well. Jakob Hall will headline the group – Hall is set to be a junior with two years of varsity experience under his belt in both pitching and batting. Braden Winters was the biggest power bat for BHS last year as a sophomore. Bradee Rigdon, Silas Early, Alan Covarrubias and Noah Wassom are other players with varsity experience back for next season.

We will have more on Cody Price the new Bruin head baseball coach as the offseason moves on.
