The Dewey Bulldoggers have a new head football coach. Ryan Richardson’s hiring was approved by the Dewey School Board at an emergency meeting on Thursday night. Richardson served as the Doggers co-defensive coordinator for the 2021 season.

Trent Turner announced his resignation from the Dewey program earlier this month after three years at the helm. Bringing on Richardson to head up the program will help keep continuity with spring ball set to start on Monday. Dewey superintendent Vince Vincent says Richardson is a great fit for the program and community.

Richardson was an offensive assistant at Midwest City (2019-20) and Moore (2017-18) prior to arriving at Dewey. He also served as Putnam City North’s head coach from 2014-16 leading the team to a 7-23 record over three seasons.

Richardson served as Dewey’s baseball coach this past spring as well.
