Rigdon Named Newcomer AD of the Year

We had some good off-the-field news yesterday for Bartlesville High Athletics, as the Bruin's Athletic Director reeled in some hardware after his first year on the job.

Spence Rigdon was named Oklahoma Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association newcomer of the year. Rigdon was named BHS Athletic Director in late June of last year after former AD Ryan Huff resigned his post.

It was the end of a whirlwind month for both Rigdon and BHS athletics. Rigdon had resigned his post as Bruin baseball coach just a few weeks earlier to take over the Athletic Director position at Collinsville High School, then came back to Bartlesville to take that same job as a Bruin.

Over the course of the past year, Rigdon has made hires for softball, volleyball, football, baseball and boys soccer at the varsity level for athletics at BHS. He will have been officially on the job a year on June 27. At the time of his hiring last year, Rigdon was excited about getting the job, and proclaimed that Bartlesville is where he wants to be.
