Had a big weekend in college football statewide, but much of the action on the field will be overshadowed by the news off the field on Sunday.

In a shocking move, Lincoln Riley has left Oklahoma for the head coaching job at the University of Southern California. Rumors linking Riley with the USC job started swirling on Sunday morning.

The announcement came only hours after Riley had denounced his interest in the open job at LSU. In a press conference after the Sooners loss to Oklahoma State, Riley said he wouldn’t be headed to Baton Rouge.

Instead Riley will head to USC. Former head coach Bob Stoops will step in as interim head coach, as reports state that both associate offensive coordinator Bill Bedenbaugh and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch may follow Riley to LA.

A press conference will officially announce the hire on Monday evening in California
