Nowata will have new leadership atop its girls’ basketball program. The Lady Ironmen didn’t have to look far as they snagged former Bartlesville girls’ coach Terry Rogers who had been retired for three years.

Rogers is excited to jump back into coaching. He says staying close to home and getting to work with familiar faces was a big draw for him.

Nowata went 7-18 in the 2017-2018 season. Rogers is looking forward to building the team on the philosophy of finding the highest percentage shot every single time down the floor. Rogers says despite the recent struggles he has the backbone of a solid roster to work with.

The veteran coach served eight years as the BHS girls’ coach. Prior to that Rogers had coaching stops at Ardmore, Lone Grove and Stigler.

Rogers replaces longtime Lady Ironmen coach Kurt Heller.
