OKWU softball continues to find late-season success as they’ve swept three consecutive Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference series. The Lady Eagles have now won six consecutive ballgames and eight of their last 11 contests.

OKWU earned road sweeps on back-to-back days first taking care of Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday, 6-5 and 5-0, before knocking out York in two games on Thursday.

The Lady Eagles pitching has been phenomenal and freshman Abbey Ely led the charge with a career day on Wednesday. Ely hurled his first career shutout against the Coyotes, allowing just three hits and striking out eight hitters while going the distance. The Bartlesville-native is now 10-8 on the year with a 3.78 ERA after earning another victory over the Panthers on Thursday.

OKWU head coach Caty Reeves has been very pleased with the freshman.

The Lady Eagles pitching staff had a stretch of 17 consecutive scoreless innings snapped in the second game against York.

OKWU is currently tied for second in the KCAC with a 12-4 record. They’ll have one day to regroup before a home doubleheader against Tabor on Saturday.
