It was a clean sweep for OKWU hoops at Friends on Tuesday night in Wichita.

The Oklahoma Wesleyan women's team won a wacky affair against the Lady Falcons, 74-59. The Lady Eagles turned the ball over 30 times but still earned a conference victory to move to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

At one point in the third quarter OKWU held the Lady Falcons to four points over seven minutes. OKWU led 55-45 after three quarters and would put Friends away down the stretch.

Hannah Nealis was money from beyond the arc as she knocked down four three-pointers on her way to a team-high 15 points.

The men’s team continued its winning streak with a narrow victory, 86-81. The sixth-ranked Eagles are now 9-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

The entire game was played within two possessions. The Eagles were led by Lance Tipton and Isaak Rowe with 17 points each. Tipton hit the go ahead three-pointer with just under six minutes remaining that would start tipping the scales Oklahoma Wesleyan’s way.

K.J. Malveau knocked down clutch free throws and created a steal that sealed the victory in the final minute.

Both OKWU teams are back in action on Thursday for a home doubleheader against Bethel. Those games can be heard on Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM.
