Wesleyan Christian School in Bartlesville is going to have some of its athletes getting back to work, as the Mustangs will start to open up their facilities on Monday.

This means they will slowly start some activities with their athletes on June 1.

Curt Cloud with Wesleyan Christian says that safety is the most important thing, while he wants WCS athletes to be able to get some work in over the next few weeks.

Cloud says that the school has been over individual plans with each coach. Depending on the sport, the activities may very. They might start with a simple open gym for volleyball or basketball.

Cloud says that the schedule will be coordinated with First Wesleyan Church to make sure that everything can be sanitized between workouts.

Cloud is also the head football coach at Wesleyan Christian, and he says their workouts will begin individually on Monday, all while doing their best to stay within the CDC and social distancing guidelines.

According to Cloud, there are in the range of 14-15 guys that are planning to play for WCS on the gridiron this fall, which is a good number for the eight-man club.

We will have more on Wesleyan Christian and other area school districts on athletics starting back up over the next several days.
