BPS Supt Chuck McCauley on COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Tom Davis
Bartlesville Public Schools Supt Chuck McCauley was our guest on COMMUNITY CONNECTION. He brought with him Agriculture Educator Marty Jones
Jones led off reminding all that each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and its impact on members daily throughout the week. National FFA Week is being celebrated this year from Feb. 17 to 24, 2024.
The Ag program at Bartlesville High School has been going stron since its inception in 2019. McCauley said the new Ag building for the students is just weeks away from being open. He added, "Great progress has been made on the exterior of the Agriculture Center that is under construction southeast of Bartlesville High School. A Bruins logo is visible on the south end of the main building, and the curbs and gutters have been completed for the driveways and north parking area. The separate parking area to the far north is still available for the public to access the Pathfinder Parkway. When the Center is completed, its curbed and paved north parking lot will provide access to the Parkway."
McCauley also recognized the BHS Fine arts students https://bhs.bps-ok.org/o/bhs/article/1468102; the state champion girls swim team https://bhs.bps-ok.org/o/bhs/article/1468102; and the students who participated Bartlesville District Science Fair that was conducted on February 2-3, 2024 at the Phillips 66 Research Center https://bhs.bps-ok.org/o/bhs/article/1444678 .
Supt McCauley announced that over 50 students have applied for the home construction class and that it will become a class offering this coming fall. The course will act as an introductory piece for students who may want to partner with other educational opportunities through Tri County Tech.
