State Senator Julie Daniels appeared in COMMUNITY CONNECTION on KWON Friday morning.

Senator Daniels addressed legislation regarding illegal immigrants at the state level. This is a bill that she vote for in this session.

House Bill 4156 will make "impermissible occupation" as a first offense a misdemeanor punishable by a year in county jail and/or a maximum $500 fine. The bill signed into law by Governor Stitt also states that 'subsequent arrests will be felonies punishable by up to two years in prison and/or a maximum $1,000 fine. In both cases, offenders will be required to leave the state within 72 hours of their conviction or release from custody, whichever comes later.'

Senator Daniels said that the law is being challenged in court, but it should send a message to our federal lawmakers and president that "this is a problem and we've had enough."

Daniels then told the audience that there are some confusing ads with her voice on them but don't sound like they would come from her. The Senator said that, by law, any ads she pays for must have her name and/or her voice stating plainly that see paid for or approved the ads.

Senator Daniels warned that if you receive literature or texts without her personal disclaimer, those are coming from organizations not assoctiated with her campgaign. These organizations do not communicate with candidates about content distribution.
