Surveys have been completed from the Barnsdall area and analysts can confirm that an EF-4 tornado with max winds of 180 miles per hour struck the town Monday, May 6th. That is the strongest tornado to strike Oklahoma since the powerful EF-5 tornado hit Moore in 2013.

Meteorologists believe the tornado began southeast of Hominy, before crossing over State Highway 20 and taking a direct hit on Barnsdall.
