Elder Care is pleased to announce that the Anderson Charitable Foundation has awarded the organization a $25,000 grant to support programs benefiting aging adults in Washington, Nowata, and Osage Counties.
Christina Bishop, Executive Director, said the $25,000 award was part of a challenge grant. Donations from generous local supporters earmarked for this challenge were matched dollar for dollar by the Anderson Foundation up to $25,000.
"The Anderson Foundation grant and the donations from local supporters will provide the resources to address a pressing need in programs like the DayBreak Adult Day Health & Activity Center, which relies on financial assistance to cover transportation costs, program materials, and food expenses. As aging adults require access to nutritious food, the meals provided at DayBreak are vital for those who face food insecurity or struggle to prepare healthy, nutritious meals at home. These meals are an excellent source of nourishment and are served restaurant style, allowing participants to enjoy a nice meal while eating with and enjoying the company of others.”
The cost to provide DayBreak meals is approximately $4,800 each month. The funds raised from the challenge grant campaign will help meet this essential need.
"We greatly appreciate the financial support from the community contributing to this challenge and the financial support from the Anderson Charitable Foundation."
