Dewey Public Schools Bond Election Set for Tuesday, Nov. 18

Voters who live within the boundaries of Dewey Public Schools will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 18 to cast ballots on a $1.4 million bond issue to benefit the Dewey FFA and agriculture programs.
According to a letter from Superintendent Vince Vincent, the bond proposal would construct a new Agricultural Education building. Vincent says the current building was built 52 years ago in 1973.
He says the building has served the school district well, but it no longer meets the needs of the growing programs. If voters approve the bond issue, the new facility will be built north of the high school gym.
Vincent says a vote in favor of the bond will not increase property taxes. In order to pass, the proposition must receive 60% of the vote.
Early voting begins Thursday at the Washington County Election Board on the fourth floor of Bartlesville City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. Voting at regular polling places will be Tuesday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
