Bartlesville Football Now on Thursday Night

There have been some changes in the high school football schedule for the weekend with the threat of rain on Friday night.

Bartlesville High moved its game up against Capitol Hill to Thursday.

BHS will host the Red Wolves for its regular season finale a day earlier than expected. Playing the game on Thursday will not only avoid the potential lightening delay tomorrow but will also give the Bruins a chance to get an extra day of rest before the playoffs.

Bruin head football coach and assistant athletic director Harry Wright talks about the things that go into the decision to move the game on a Wednesday night..

On the field, this has the makings of a big Bruin win. Capitol Hill is winless in District play and had a 20-point loss to Putnam City West, the team BHS beat by 30 last week.

Despite the possible lopsided win, Wright says the Capitol Hill contest is vital for his team to keep momentum and work on a few things into the postseason, which begins on Nov. 15.

The Bruins have won two games in a row after an 0-7 start to the year.

Bartlesville will honor 13 seniors. A good number of those guys have been four-year players with some as three-year starters.

Wright says senior night is important and the program stresses to the underclassmen that he wants to get a win for those guys in their final game at Custer Stadium.

A 7:00 kick Thursday evening with a 6:30 pregame on KWON – AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 with a video live stream on KWONTV.com.

Win and the Bruins will be the 5-seed out of 6A-II District II, likely playing the loser of this weekend’s game between Putnam City and Piedmont.

We previewed this Bruin game and talked with sophomore linebacker Davin Carter during coach Wright’s weekly radio show from Dink’s.

You can catch the program from Wednesday night if you missed it archived on KWONTV.com.
