BHS Gearing Up for Spring Football

Let’s talks some spring high school football, as Bartlesville High is hoping for another step forward in head coach Harry Wright’s third season with the program.

There have been marked improvements in each of Wright’s first two years at the helm. Both seasons yielded first-round playoff victories.

Bartlesville had a later change-up to its spring schedule. Bartlesville begins practice today and will have five workdays this week. BHS will head to a team camp on May 23 and 24 with another practice day on May 28.

Quarterback Nate Neal and wide receiver Damien Niko headline the returners – but the Bruins have some guys back from the trenches, as well. Wright talks about a couple guys to watch this spring.

Offseason workouts continue to pay dividends, as several Bruins are setting personal records in the weight room. Wright says weight work has been one of the main reasons that Bartlesville has had such consistency even in bench players the last few years.

More on Bruin spring football and other schools throughout the area planned for the next several days.
