BHS Volleyball Gets Huge Victory
Bartlesville High volleyball had one of the biggest wins in its program history on Tuesday night at Bruin Field House.
The Bruins knocked off the No. 1 ranked team in the state. BHS beat Broken Arrow 3-2.
After smashing BA in set one, 25-8, the Tigers rallied to win the next two, 25-18 and 25-23. Then the Bruins won the final two 25-18 and 15-9 to get the match victory.
Standout Emry Brown had 24 kills. Head coach Andrew Blain said it was a gutsy win with contributions up and down the lineup. Bartlesville had 12 aces on the night from seven different players.
Talking with Brown before the match, she told KWON this is one of the best teams she’s been on.
A couple weeks after Brown got 1,000 kills, Hayden Brandon achieved more than 1,000 assists during the match.
Rya Christenson and Marissa Demuth both had seven kills, as well.
The victory over BA will be extremely helpful as September rolls along with rankings released by the OSSAA every Monday. Those rankings will determine who hosts Regionals in October. Top-eight would lock-in a Regional at Bruin Field House.
BHS volleyball is off on Wednesday and will be back at home against Ponca City on Thursday.
