Copan, Barnsdall, WCS and South Coffeyville Play for Titles on Saturday

 

Big doings in high school hoops locally on Saturday evening, as several local clubs are going to play for championships in mid-season tournament play.

The Wesleyan Christian School, Copan and Barnsdall boys will all play for Tournament championships on Saturday evening.

WCS got a couple wins in the Frontier Tournament over Chisolm and Kellyville to get to the title round on Saturday. Mustangs will face a 2A Hennessey club in the title round. Both Chisolm and Kellyville were 3A wins for the Class B Wesleyan basketball team. 

Meanwhile, there will be local flavor in the Copan Shootout.

The Hornets will take on Barnsdall for the title game of their own event at 8:30 in northern Washington County. Barnsdall beat Cedar Vale-Dexter on Friday night in the other semifinal, 63-38.

Copan got a win over Quapaw in order to advance to the Championship round on Thursday. 

The South Coffeyville girls will also play for the Copan Tournament championship, after the Lady Lions beat Dexter, KS and Prue. South Coffeyville is 5-1 on the young season.
