Day One Delivers at the 33rd Annual Caney Valley Basketball Tournament

 

Day one of the 33rd Annual Caney Valley Basketball Tournament opened with three games at the Caney Valley gym. In the opening matchup, the Dewey Bulldoggers defeated the Barnsdall Panthers 70–35. Zach Renfroe led Dewey with 14 points, while Bladen Carmack scored 10 for Barnsdall.

In the second game, the Caney Valley Lady Trojans earned a decisive 73–4 win over the Foyil Lady Panthers. Caney Valley built a 41–0 halftime lead and controlled the game throughout. Presley Smith led the Lady Trojans with 23 points.

The final game of the night featured a close contest between the Caney Valley Ramona Trojans and the Caney Valley Kansas Bullpups. The Trojans led early, but the Bullpups rallied to trail by one at halftime and pulled away in the fourth quarter. Layne Denny scored 22 points as Kansas secured a 70–58 win. Tournament play continues tonight on 104.9 KRIG with Dewey facing Cleveland, the Lady Trojans taking on the Lady Bullpups at 7, and Caney Valley Kansas meeting Riverfield at 8:30.
