Huskies Get Road Wins at Dewey

Pawhuska made the trip out east on Friday night to take on local foe Dewey and took care of business, with both teams getting the best of the Doggers.

The guys game was a defensive struggle, but it was Pawhuska who came out on top, 36-28. It was Dewey who led 16-12 at halftime, but the Doggers were held scoreless for the entirety of the third quarter and the Huskies took a 22-16 lead into the fourth quarter.

After a defensive stop to open the fourth quarter, Dewey made a three pointer to get their first three points of the half and that was followed up by another three to tie the game at 22 apiece.

The offense would heat up a little bit for both squads in the fourth quarter, as this three-pointer from Pawhuska senior Trenton Miles extended the Husky lead back to six.

Once the Huskies took the lead in the second half, they never trailed as they went on to get the victory.

On the girl's side, Dewey did all they could to stay within striking distance, but in the end it was Pawhuska getting a 47-27 win.

Dewey plays at Oklahoma Union in a makeup game from earlier in the year later today. We will have radio coverage of that one on Real Country KRIG 104.9 FM beginning at 2:30 p.m.. Pawhuska hosts Pawnee on senior night on Tuesday. Coverage of that game begins at 6:15 and can be heard on 99.1 FM KPGM and streaming on KPGMTV.com.
