Indians Baseball Looks Ahead to Historic Regional

Around this time next week the Doenges Toyota Indians will be playing in a Mid-South Regional tournament at the national stage in the American Legion National Tournament.
The Indians won the state championship on Sunday in Ada over the Ada Braves to punch their ticket to nationals for the first time in 48 years. The win came in a winner-take-all contest after Bartlesville fell to the Braves on Saturday, 14-7.
Leu pitched four innings and allowed just one hit in Sunday's win.
This will be the fourth time the Indians will play in a regional. Bartlesville will represent the state of Oklahoma against other states within the region in Cherryville, N.C. starting on Aug. 5.
If the Indians win their regional, they would play in the American Legion World Series, something the Indians have only done once. The 1969 Doenges Ford Injuns are the only team in the program's 85-year history to advance to the final tournament.
