The Doenges Toyota Indians opened the Twin Lakes Classic in Mountain Home, Ark. with a dramatic win on Thursday.

The Indians beat Pontotoc, Miss 12-4.

Bartlesville had chances to take an early lead but could not capitalize. The Indians were held scoreless for the first five innings and found themselves in a 3-0 hole.

The Indians broke the scoreboard in the top of the sixth inning with two runs to stay within one. Eddie Rice hit a single in the frame that scored Nate Sloan and Kamen Sprague.

Things took a turn in the seventh. Bartlesville scored 10 runs without recording a hit in the top of the seventh. A walk, hit by pitch and an error loaded the bases. Almost immediately following, the Indians scored four runs on two separate errors to take the lead.

Back-to-back batters were hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, followed by two more Bartlesville batters drawing walks to make it a 10-3 game. The Indians brought two more runs across after another Pontotoc error and a sacrifice fly.

The win puts Bartlesville at 1-0 in the Twin Lakes Classic and 11-2 on the summer. They are back in action at 11 a.m. against Jefferson City on Friday morning.
