Nowata Shuts Out Caney Valley (OK)
The Nowata Ironmen picked up their first win of the season on Friday night, as the Ironmen ran past the Caney Valley Trojans, 26-0.
After an offensive start that stalled out early, the Ironmen defense once again stayed strong.
The Ironmen offense scored all 26 of their points in the first half. This strike from Adrian O'Dell to Caleb Woolman stretched the Nowata lead to 14.
Adrian O'Dell led the way on offense. O'Dell threw two touchdown passes and ran for one for his first win as the starting quarterback. He threw his second touchdown pass of the night to Woolman again to put Nowata up by 26.
Both coaches agreed to a running clock in the second half. The Trojans finished with negative total yards on the night.
Nowata improves to 1-4 on the season, the Ironmen will go back on the road next Friday for Quapaw. Caney Valley drops to 0-4 on the season with the loss, they will play their first district home game next week against Tonkawa.
Both teams will play their respective games at 7 p.m.
