Nowata trounces Caney Valley for first win
Nowata earned their first win on the season Friday in a dominant 44-6 win over area rival Caney Valley. The ironmen used big plays all night in all phases to grab a commanding 44-0 lead at halftime in Ramona.
Running backs Davionn Downing and Tyler Flower each found the endzone with rushing touchdowns in the first half. Trevor Emberson was able to connect with his receivers, as Sebastian Brown had a pair of first touchdown receptions, including this highlight two-point conversion
Adrian Odell continued his strong play as the Sophomore made big plays all night, but this touchdown put the game out of reach to the first half.
That play ended the half 44-0 in favor of Nowata.
The 2nd half sped through but it was Caney Valley who scored the only touchdown on a short run from Bryor Bonde.
Caney Valley falls to 1-3 and 0-1 in district while Nowata rises to 1-4 and evens their district record to 1-1.
Nowata next hosts Quapaw next week, while Caney Valley faces Tonkawa.
