OKWU Announces Champion of Character Awards

Oklahoma Wesleyan is continuing to hand out end-of-year awards following a phenomenal year across all seasons for OKWU athletics.


Jaden Lietzke of men's basketball and Sunny Rasmussen of women's soccer are the recepients of the Ehlers/Booth Award, given to a male and female athlete who embodies the champion of character.


Rasmussen was a part of an OKWU women's soccer team that lost only one match all season, and won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. The Lady Eagles finished top-25 nationally. On the field, Rasmussen appeared in 20 matches and scored a goal. The Lady Eagles finished 16-1-4. (16 wins, 1 loss, 4 draws).


Lietzke, a product of Rejoice Christian, was on a men's basketball team that also made the NAIA postseason, with a trip all the way to the national championship game for the second time in program history. Lietzke was a unanimous first team all-conference selection and a third-team NAIA All-American. Oklahoma Wesleyan men's basketball finished their season 28-8.
