OKWU Baseball Awaits NAIA Assignment

Big day for Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball, as the Eagles will find out where they area headed for the NAIA National Tournament.

Wesleyan won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title with its backs against the wall over the weekend.

Pretty impressive stuff from an Eagle club that looked to be struggling heading into the final couple weeks of the year. OKWU had lost five of six going into the tournament.

What looked like a possible regular season title and at-large berth in mid-April into the national tournament turned into a must-win situation last weekend.

Eagle head coach Kirk Kelly says he thought his guys handled the pressure of the moment perfectly.

The NAIA Baseball Tournament Selection Show will be on Thursday afternoon at 4:00.

It is broadcasted live on the NAIA’s YouTube page. OKWU will be sent to a double-elimination tournament, the Eagles must win that to head to the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
