OKWU Hoops Sweeps York in Saturday Showdown

Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball got their second Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference sweep of the season on Saturday in York, Neb.
 
The Lady Eagles beat York University to snap a five-game losing streak, 71-59. The men dominated, 86-45.
 
In the women's game, the Lady Eagles got off to a hot start on both sides of the ball. They opened the ballgame up on a 13-4 run and never looked back. OKWU never trailed in the contest. Kamryn Phoenix and Khamille Warr scored 16 points each in the win.
 
The Lady Eagles move to 6-12 overall with the win and 2-10 in the KCAC.
 
On the men's side, the Eagles picked up their most dominant win of the season. After trailing 17-13 just past the midpoint of the first half, OKWU went on an 18-0 run to take a double-digit lead. The Eagles led 40-20 at halftime.
 
They followed it up with a 46-25 second half to put the game away.
 
Three Eagles finished in double figures, with Tamaje Izuagbe leading the way with 19 points.
 
The Eagles are 16-2 overall with the win and 11-1 in the KCAC.
 
Both Eagle clubs are back in action on the road once again to Evangel University. The Lady Eagles will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow around 7:30 p.m. 
 
Both games can be heard on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1, and Sports Talk, 99.1 FM, 1500 AM - KPGM.
