It was the men’s second straight win while the Lady Eagles have won three of their last four.

Wesleyan was down one with only a few seconds remaining when Shade Richardson ended up with an offensive rebound and 10-foot jumper on the putback. This would put OKWU up by one in regulation.

The lead wouldn’t hold, but Wesleyan outscored the Braves 17-11 in overtime. Rashaan Smith continued her tear with 25 points on 7-8 free throws and 9-21 shooting. Smith has now scored 25 points or more in two of her last four games.

On the men’s side it was one of the biggest Eagle wins of the year. OKWU handed Ottawa just its third conference loss in an 89-74 win.

OKWU made 10-20 three-pointers and shot 47 percent from the field in total.

Freshman Jensen Knowles had not played in more than a week, but he tallied 20 points off the bench in the win. Knowles made four of seven three pointers, including this one that extended the Eagle lead in the second half.

Wesleyan is now in a three-way tie for second in the KCAC at 8-3 in conference play. Eagle men are 12-5 overall.

OKWU will next host York on Saturday in Bartlesville.
